Andrew Rennie and Alan Walker will discuss the latest happenings, findings, and predictions coming out of the IAF Congress, held in Melbourne. This informal discussion will feature the very latest information on: Latest findings from interplanetary probes Future NASA, NASDA and ESA plans and missions Details of new launch programs, such as SeaLaunch, Airlaunch, and the Kistler K1 reusable launch vehicle, which is currently scheduled to fly from Woomera next year.

Soviet Space Research

Mark Hillyer outlines recent research and publications about the Soviet space programme and will present a brief guide to Soviet information sources.

August 4 "Blueprint for Space"

A video presentation hosted by the recently deceased astronaut, Alan Shepard. This presentation examines Wernher von Braun's prophetic visions for space exploration. Shepard compares the plan with reality, and looks to what the future holds.

"To The Moon (Almost)"

September 1 "The Earth in Space"

The Physics Department at La Trobe University conducts research into the solar-terrestrial environment using satellite and ground-based techniques with the aim of understanding the basic physical processes that determine the impact of space weather on our environment. Professor Peter Dyson will discuss the Earth's interaction with the space environment and the La Trobe research program.

International Space Camp

Susanna Payne, a Melbourne high school student who attended the International Space Camp in Huntsville Alabama, will give a report on her experiences there.
